Summary:The quasistatic contact problem of two identically elastic bodies’ interaction with Coulombfriction under the action of normal and tangential forces is considered. The problem is reduced toa series of similar systems of nonlinear boundary integral equations. Each of the systems in thisseries corresponds to a step of bodies loading. A method of an approximate solution of the integralequations is applied to obtaining the contact stresses at the each step of loading. This method consists in discretization of the system of equations and the use of an iterative process for solvingdiscretized system. The influence of loading history on the distribution of tangential contactstresses is studied for a problem of the interaction of an elastic sphere and an elastic half-space.
