Summary: | The nature of the resonances of total reflection being providedby a waveguide section with two uneven rectangular posts arrangedsymmetrically along the broad wall of a rectangular guidewas investigated. The study was performed within the spectraltheory of open waveguide resonators. Total reflection resonanceswere interpreted as the result of excitation of two naturaloscillations. The behavior dynamics in the complex plane wasexamined for the natural oscillations while varying all the geometricparameters of the section. Diffraction and spectral characteristicswere compared. The contribution of each naturaloscillation into formation of the frequency response was estimated. It was shown that the position of each reflection resonanceand its quality factor were evaluated with a high accuracyby the complex frequency of one natural oscillation participatingin its formation. |
