Transactions of Institute of Mathematics of NAS of Ukraine| Summary: | Nonlinear resonant sloshing of an ideal incompressible liquid in a rigidtruncated conical tank due to a horizontal harmonic excitation is studied. The excitation frequency is close to the lowest natural liquid frequency.Using a asymptotic modal system with Moiseev-Narimanov detuning [9],the steady-stare resonance sloshing is analysed. An asymptotic periodicsolution describing the so-called planar and swirling waves is derived. Util-ising the method of slowly varying amplitudes makes it possible to studythe solution stability. Hydrodynamic loads are estimated. The results arecompared with experimental data. |
