Summary:We propose one of the possible ways to increase the energetic efficiency of an internal-combustion engine by means of introduction of an adaptive system for control of the moment of ignition. We use the current pressure in the combustion chamber, which is permanently measured during the engine operation and treated by a vehicle-borne microcontroller device, as the initial information. With the aid of the designed apparatus we have carried out experimental investigations of power characteristics of the engine MeMZ-968. The obtained data corroborate the efficiency of application of this device in order to economize fuel and increase the engine power.
