Для умов України розроблено методику розрахунку сумарної сонячної радіації, що надходить на довільно орієнтовану площину, яка дозволяє розраховувати надходження сумарної сонячної радіації на середину кожного місяця за безхмарного неба та з урахуванням хмарності. Результати розрахунку скориговано з даними БНІП. Для прикладного використання методику оформлено в програмі Місгоsoft ЕхсеІ.
