Summary:The most appropriate rank of coal for conversion combined heat and power plant (CHP) while conversion to pulverized-coal combustion is being chosen by means of solution of the problem of multicriterion optimization for system: ‘boiler and coal fuel’. The set of partial optimization criterions for assessment of productivity of CHP operation while burning coal in boiler units (installations) is proposed.The set of physical, chemical, technical heat and economic features was formed for mathematical modeling on the basis of analysis of influence of major parameter rates of steam coal on CHP operational indicators. These features include ash and sulphur content, moisture, calorific value, price and availability indicator (the part value of the kind of coal products in total volume of domestic clean coal).To determine the generalized optimization criterion for the system the principle of extreme pessimism (Wald criterion) is used. The kind of coal products is considered to be optimal, if it minimal assessment by one of partial criterions is maximal in the list of this kinds. This way the equality of influences of partial criteria on the result of choice is reaching.The case study of determining the optimal coal rank for boiler unit ‘БКЗ-420-140НГМ’ at the CHP by means of developed model is done. For assessment of fuel supply productivity the set of 8 technological, technical heat, physical, chemical and price indicators was created for domestic production coal products and 6 indicators for imported.
