Стаття присвячена пам'яті відомого українського вченого, доктора геологічних наук,академіка НАН України Петра Феодосійовича Гожика, вкладу вченого у розвиток геологічної науки в Україні, у вивчення палеонтології та геології морів та океанів, ролі його особистості у створенні Українського Антарктичного центру та становленні України, як "антарктичної держави".
