Показана возможность создания анизотропных диэлектрических плащей, которые обеспечивают покрытому ими телу мимикрию под тело другой формы, так что для внешнего наблюдателя покрытое таким плащом тело выглядит как тело другой формы. Представлена методика конструирования плащей мимикрии с использованием подхода трансформационной оптики. Продемонстрировано, что материальные параметры в таких плащах мимикрии имеют несингулярный характер. Проведено численное моделирование плащей мимикрии и произведена оценка эффективности их работы.
