Description
Summary:The creation of a receive site intended for monitoring the Earth’s electromagnetic environment in the ELF range in the village of Martova, Kharkiv region is described. The major topics of the current research in the ELF range and requirements for experimental facilities are discussed. The selection of the receive site location and the specific structure of the receiving complex chosen to account for the local interferers typical of the ELF range are motivated. The functional diagram of the receiving complex and brief description of its major units are given. The quality of the experimental data collected at the new receive site is compared to those recorded at the Ukrainian Antarctic Station “Akademik Vernadsky”. Simultaneous synchronous data processing from the two sites, e. g. locating lightning strokes,is shown possible.
