The radiation from the open-ended transmission line with impedance boundaries which support the lowest off-axis hybrid mode <i>HE</i><sub>11</sub> is shown characterized by the axial-beam symmetry and the cross polarization level which allow using the line as a feed for the single-mirror and lens antennas.

Hа основе приближенных решений дисперсионного уравнения и уравнения для отношения продольных составляющих электрического и магнитного полей несимметричных гибридных волн с низшими индексами рассчитаны апертурные распределения и диаграммы направленности, получены аналитические выражения для частот, соответствующих минимальному кроссполяризационному излучению. Показано, что излучение из открытого конца линии передачи с импедансными границами, поддерживающей низшую несимметричную гибридную волну HE11, обладает осевой симметрией и уровнем кроссполяризации, позволяющим использовать линию в качестве облучателя однозеркальных и линзовых антенн.
