Сферичний сонячний трубчастий колектор (ССТК) був винайдений у ІПМаш ім. А.М. Підгорного як альтернатива сонячному плоскому колектору для перетворення променистої енергії Сонця в теплову. Для розуміння ефективності колектора важливо знати, яку кількість енергії він зможе приймати.Розроблено методологію обчислення кількості тепла, що сприймається колектором. Визначено площу поверхні сферичного трубчастого колектора, що освітлюється Сонцем. Отримано кількість тепла, що сприймає сонячний колектор за кожен день року. Обчислено загальну кількість тепла, одержуваного ССТК у м. Харків протягом року.
