Description
Summary:Alternate movements of the Ukrainian Shield blocks and tectonimagmatic activity during Paleocene time have created paleogeographic preconditions for peat accumulation and then for coal formation. Depending on geological structure of organic matter accumulation, transformation and burial, intensity of the movements, amount of vegetation matter and watering of the territory the different types of soft brown coals are formed (1B). The results of these processes have been studied in the Oleksandria brown coal sub-basin of the Dniprobas. Thus, accumulation and formation of brown coal deposits in the Dnipro brown coal basin was a regular regional geological process characteristic of other coal basins as well. The conditions for intense peat accumulation were governed by contrast relief causing erosion of uplifts and sedimentation in depressions, burial and preservation of organic matter. Interaction of endogenous and exogenous processes is an ultimate precondition to from coal fields. As a rule, endogenous processes (deep energy and matter) are neglected in coal geology studies.
