Tectonics and stratigraphy| Summary: | Regionally, Kaniv Prydniprovia is confined to the junction of the Ukrainian Shield and the Dnipro-Donetsk basin, being located on the slope of the shield, where the depths of the crystalline basement are 300-350 m. Substantial structural and tectonic complications in the sedimentary cover can be found in Kaniv dislocations. In relation to the structures of the crystalline basement the deployment area is mainly located within the southern part of Yadlovo-Trakhtemyriv area of Pervomaisk-Trakhtemyriv fracture zone, and to the structures of the sedimentary cover - within the axial region of the southern part of the Ostersk- Zolotonishsk elevation. In the structural plan of paleogene sublayer on every stratigraphic level partially inherited structural forms can be observed, first of all of Ostersk-Zolotonishsk elevation, which exert impact on the litho-facial and facial composition of the paleogene strtigraphic units. |
