Установлена зависимость интенсивности ночной освещенности территории Украины (данные со спутника DMSP/OLS) от количества населения. Дана оценка социально-экономических условий в отдельных областях и их изменений за период 1992–2012 гг. На основании полученных данных было проведено ранжирование областей Украины по социально-экономическим условиям. Полученные результаты подтверждены статистическими данными об изменении количества городского и сельского населения. Это подтверждает, что данные со спутника DMSP/OLS целесообразно использовать для мониторинга и экспресс оценки направленности изменений в экономике и социальной сфере отдельных областей. Встановлена залежність інтенсивності нічного освітлення території України (дані з супутника DMSP/OLS) від кількості населення, були оцінені соціально-економічні умови в окремих областях та їхні зміни протягом 1992–2012 рр. На підставі отриманих даних було проведено ранжування областей України за соціально-економічними умовами. Отримані дані підтверджуються статистичними даними про зміну кількості міського та сільського населення. Дані з супутника DMSP/OLS доцільно використовувати для моніторингу та експрес-оцінки направленості змін в економіці та соціальній сфері окремих областей.
