ASPECTS OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF HYDROGEN ENERGY IN UKRAINE BY USING ENERGY FROM RENEWABLE SOURCES

Green hydrogen has an important role to play in Ukraine's recovery, as it is one of the key areas of transition to clean renewable energy. Through the implementation of projects in this area, Ukraine and the European Union will receive an environmentally sustainable source of energy, transfer a significant share of the Ukrainian economy to a low-carbon basis, and ensure the development of pan-European hydrogen networks. Cooperation with European countries will help develop Ukraine's energy infrastructure, create new jobs and reduce environmental impact. Further development of the renewable energy sector is possible provided that regulatory capacities are created, industrial energy storage facilities are built to stabilise electricity supply to the integrated power grid and the correct state policy is developed. Regulatory capacities will help to resolve the issue of electricity surplus during surplus hours in the market, stabilise the situation during deficit hours, abandon electricity imports from other countries and create a market for Ukrainian electricity exports to European countries. With international support, hydrogen can serve as a necessary buffer and ensure the resilience of Ukraine's overall energy system. This article provides an overview of the framework for developing integrated renewable energy projects to produce green hydrogen in Ukraine and the prospects for its supply to the European grid.
