The choice of the optimal method of disposing of the spent coolant in advance allows to establish environmentally safe operation of power plants, affects the design features of energy systems, and also determines the productivity of the energy system, its service life and technical and economic indicators. Based on the analysis of natural geothermal conditions of domestic geothermal deposits, depending on the location of the static level of the productive horizon, two types of hydrothermal deposits are distinguished. For each type, the mode of operation of the wells is given, the general principles of calculating the water extraction system are defined, and an effective method of disposal of the spent natural heat carrier is also proposed.
