Description
Summary:The article presents an approach to reducing energy consumption for heating and cooling of buildings through the use of low-temperature geothermal potential. The aim of the study is to develop an economical heating and cooling system for buildings through the use of a low-temperature system based on geothermal heat supply and accumulation and to experimentally verify the efficiency of its operation. The objectives of the study are: to develop an approach for reducing energy consumption for heating and cooling of buildings through the use of low-temperature geothermal potential; to analyse the results of experimental measurement of the air flow temperature in the low-temperature geothermal heating system in different periods of the year; to determine the heat consumption for maintaining the thermal regime of the premises inside the building (at the level of 20 °C) during the heating period. The scheme of construction of such low temperature energy efficient energy supply system is based on the ground-air heat exchanger. This design solution saves the heat carrier used for heating of the building and electrical energy for air conditioning. At the same time, the air quality in the building improves. The construction of the designed heating system is presented, in which a low-temperature system based on geothermal heating and cooling is successfully used. The results of experimental measurement of the efficiency of this system in different periods of the year are given. It has been experimentally proved that the proposed design variant of the studied geothermal installation without additional energy consumption continuously functions effectively throughout the year. In the spring and autumn period (March-April, October-November), the proposed system allows to ensure the temperature in the building within 18‒21 °C without additional energy consumption. This will allow to reduce gas consumption for this building by 200‒300 m3 during the year, that saves gas consumption in the range of 11‒17 %.
