Zusammenfassung:The article presents the results of an analysis of global experience in underground hydrogen storage and the prospects of underground hydrogen storage in the subsoil of Ukraine as an important element of the development of hydrogen energy. Given global trends toward reducing greenhouse gas emissions and transitioning to "green" energy, underground hydrogen storage is expected to become a key factor in ensuring reliable and efficient energy supply. The article discusses the main methods of underground hydrogen storage and explores the specific features of each method. The main advantages of underground storage of green hydrogen in Ukraine are considered, including: the availability of infrastructure for gas transportation and storage; favorable geological conditions; the existence of a regulatory framework for underground hydrogen storage in Ukraine; and the strengthening of energy security. Special attention is given to the assessment of the geological conditions for the implementation of this technology in Ukraine, as well as the technical, regulatory aspects and the role of "green" hydrogen in ensuring a sustainable energy future.
