Vidnovluvana energetika| Резюме: | Biomethane has a wide scope of applications with the possibility of replacing fossil fuels in various sectors of economy. An important sustainability characteristic of biomethane is the amount of greenhouse gas emissions during its life cycle. The biomass feedstock from which biomethane is obtained has a significant impact on this. The purpose of the work is to analyze the possibilities of biomethane production from intermediate crops in Ukraine, taking into account issues of sustainability and economic feasibility. To achieve this goal, a feasibility study of a typical project for the production of biomethane from intermediate crops was carried out and a life cycle analysis of biomethane was conducted. It is determined that to ensure low greenhouse gas emissions, it is necessary to add animal manure to the feedstock mixture. Another measure for this is the capture and liquefaction of carbon dioxide which is released during the cleaning and upgrading of biogas to the quality of natural gas. Thus, the project under study managed to achieve negative greenhouse gas emissions at the level of -13 g CO2-eq/MJ. This indicator determines a high sustainability of biomethane. The results of the feasibility study show that, given the adopted input data and the selected financial model, the project for the production of biomethane from intermediate crops is quite attractive for investment with an internal return rate of about 20% and a profitability index of 0.41. At the same time, the project is quite sensitive to changes in key economic parameters, primarily capital costs and the sale price of biomethane. |
