Резюме:The study presents the results of research aimed at determining the photovoltaic potential of the territorial communities of Ukraine using geoinformation technologies. For testing purposes, 25 territorial communities were selected for the implementation of solar power plants (SPP), grouped in sets of five across five regions of Ukraine with different geographical conditions.An input dataset of restrictive land areas was formed, consisting of agricultural lands, forest plantations, water bodies, built-up areas, and territories with environmental protection status. The input dataset of restrictive areas was processed using GIS tools, resulting in the creation of a vector layer of available land plots suitable for the placement of SPP.Threshold values were defined for filtering the layer of available areas into two categories: a minimum corridor width of 40 meters and a minimum plot area of 0.15 hectares. A comparison of the available area before filtering (113,413.4 km²) and after filtering (103,419.6 km²) according to these categories demonstrated a difference of approximately 2% relative to the total study area of Ukraine. Based on the data on territories suitable for SPP deployment and annual solar irradiation, indicators of the photovoltaic potential of the selected territorial communities of Ukraine were calculated.
