Vidnovluvana energetika| Summary: | The paper proposes an algorithm for optimal control of an industrial power system with photovoltaic generation and an energy storage system based on nonlinear model predictive control (MPC). The algorithm takes into account variable electricity prices on the day-ahead market (DAM), restrictions on exports to the grid, and nonlinear dynamics of the storage system. Simulation results show that, provided that excess photovoltaic (PV) generation is fully utilized, the storage system enables energy shifting during periods of shortage and high prices, which reduces the cost of imported electricity by 15.3% compared to a scenario without a storage system. A parametric study confirmed that the determining factor of the economic effect is the energy capacity of the storage system, while the influence of the C-rate within the studied range is of secondary importance. The obtained results can be used for the rational selection of storage system parameters in energy management systems of industrial enterprises.  |
