Резюме:History of study of Trypillia in the Dnister River Upper Region is not sufficiently developed yet. Though, this region is very important for the study of evolution of the sites at the territory and of the further historic destiny of its population. It is non the less important for the understanding of Trypillian community’s palaeoeconomics, especially of the flint industry genesis. The nature and scale of field works, as well as rising and solving the problems related to the cultural and historical interpretation of Trypillian sites of this territory allow the authors to divide the research into the four conditional stages. Each of them has certain scientific achievements: I stage - from the 1870s to 1914; II stage - 1918—1940; III stage — from 1947 to the 1980s; IV stage — from the late 1980s to the early 21st century. The first researchers discovered for the science a «culture of Painted Ceramics», as it was called then, and laid its basis. Based on the materials of the new archaeological sites, the earliest discussions on interpretation the wattle and daub grounds and settlements’ specializations occurred and the issues of excavations methods, chronology and division into periods of various stages of culture development were in process of solving. However, these activities were not united, the materials from many sites were kept in different European museums, while the discoverers’ achievements unfortunately were insufficiently used as sources in further cultural and historic generalizations. Next stages of research work presented the most important data for the interpretation of material and sacral pages of Trypillia culture, of its development level, relative chronology of the sites, of routs the culture was spread, and of the peculiarities of the way its population pioneered the environment. Based on the research at a series of settlements-workshops (i.e. Bodaky) flint processing field of industry was studied in detail and its high level was showed. Obtained were the new materials for understanding the economic bases of Trypillia, the relations of its north-western borderland with central sites, as well as with synchronous agricultural and cattle-breeding ethnically different cultures. The detailed consideration of various stages of research at the Dnipro River upper region of Trypillia showed its special meaning both for the solving of problems of the very culture, and for description of the Eurasian Chalcolithic as a whole.
