Description
Summary:Ground Described is the anthropological material from the burial ground Luka (Kuchary) of Kyiv Rus period. Presented are the results of its comparison with the synchronous and chronologically close populations of the Slavs and their neighbours. Men’s and women’s groups from Luka show a strong eastern nature of its relation to the population of Saltovo-Mayak culture. Taking into account the morphology, a statistical analysis of craniological material, as well as odontological data, the author abandons herself to the idea that the Kuchary population’s ancestors could have come from the contact zone where the carriers of Saltovo-Mayak culture and Eastern Slavonic population, having developed on the Baltic biological base, had been presented.
