Резюме:The study explores the conceptual essence of resilience and survivability of information systems, highlighting their differences and clarifying their applicability to digital archives. Survivability is usually defined as the ability of a system to continue operating under destructive influence, whereas resilience refers to the broader capability to anticipate threats, absorb disturbances, and fully restore all essential functions after incidents. A methodological approach is proposed for assessing the resilience of digital archives considered as information-analytical data processing systems. The investigation introduces a mathematical formalization of the impact of cyber threats on archive functions and develops a model of adaptive resilience. Building upon international standards and prior research, two key constructs are formalized: the Resilience Threshold Function, which specifies the minimum level of functionality required to preserve continuity, and the Recovery Function, which models the system’s dynamics of restoration after disruption. Additionally, the notion of a resilient infrastructure of a digital archive is introduced, emphasizing architectural and organizational capabilities that support integrity, availability, and controlled recovery. The research also outlines the possibilities of constructing a recovery profile, which quantifies the trajectory of restoration and enables the evaluation of recovery speed, critical bottlenecks, and sustainable post-incident functionality. The results form a theoretical and methodological foundation for measuring and enhancing the resilience of digital archives during the processes of storing and using electronic information resources. The proposed models can be applied as a basis for resilience assessment methods and for embedding continuity policies within enterprise content management (ECM) and content services platforms (CSP). Moreover, they provide a framework for developing automated recovery management mechanisms and adapting resilience models to specific archival infrastructures. In this way, the research contributes both to theoretical advances in cyber resilience and to practical solutions for safeguarding digital archives under conditions of cyber threats, technological failures, emergencies, or wartime disruptions.
