Description
Summary:Ilona Kovrig and Zlata Cilinska. who first created a ty-pochronological system for the female jewellery of the Avar period, classified earrings with a round hoop and a bead pendant solely on formal grounds, based on the section of the hoop, the number of heads and their position on the hoop. They apparently paid little attention to one particular feature of these earrings, or simply thought it unimportant, namely that the bead pendants were attached to the hoop in one of two ways: they either had a fixed position or were movable.
