The article is dedicated to the description of geographical
environment, hydrography, roads, fortification buildings in the
40th–50th years of the XVII century to the north (to Bila
Tserkva) and to the south (to Uman) from Okhmativ where the
battles took place in 1644 and 1655. The author explained how
the space had influenced those historical events and gave
detailed description of their course and character.
