Chemistry, Physics and Technology of Surface| Summary: | Synthesis of ??cyclodextrin?containing silica has been carried out under mild conditions using 1,1'?carbonyldiimidazole as an coupling agent. Sorption of p?aminobenzoic and p?aminosalicylic acids on silicas with various structure of surface layer has been studied in relation to duration of contact, equilibrium concentration, and solution pH. It was shown that chemical immobilization of b?cyclodextrin onto silica surface improves adsorption parameters for aromatic amino acids due to the formation of surface inclusion complexes between grafted oligosaccharide molecules and amino acids. Experimental results were analyzed with mathematical models for adsorption kinetics and equilibrium sorption on the solid surfaces. |
