Summary:A series of O-containing active carbon samples derived from especially pure carbon sorbent and N-containing carbon SKN was synthesized. Their physical-chemical and electrochemical characteristics have been studied. A method of quantitative estimation of electron donation properties and reductive capability in the electrochemical cell with separated electrode spaces has been developed. The behavior of these carbon samples in redox processes with participation of solutions containing Fe3+, MnO4-, Cr2O72- ions has been investigated.
