Surface| Summary: | Thermal decomposition has been studied of bovine serum albumin (BSA) as free and adsorbed on modified silica surface by means of temperature-programmed desorption mass spectrometry. Adsorption isotherms are described satisfactorily by the Langmuir equation. The thermolysis of BSA molecules starts from water evaluation, then sulfur-containing groups are destroyed followed by destruction of amino groups. The decomposition temperature depends upon hydrophobicity of silica surface. |
