Description
Summary:Silica nanocomposites that contain metal oxides and nanoparticles of metallic silver were synthesized by mechanochemical modification of silica surface with silver nitrate, copper acetate and zinc acetate with subsequent heat treatment up to 550°C. The structures of the synthesized nanocomposites were investigated by means of the X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy. It has been found that the antimicrobial activity of the samples decreases in the line Ag > Cu > Zn and in the concentration series of the Ag-containing samples 0.2 mmol > 0.5 mmol > 1.0 mmol per 1 g SiO2.
