Analytical and practical methods, comparative-analytical and systemic approaches were applied. Виконано опис конструкцій сушильних установок, розроблених в ІТТФ НАН України. Установки забезпечують можливість зневоднення різних видів матеріалів і сільгоспсировини. В статті представлені ефективні розпилюючі, тунельні, камерні, стрічкові, вакуумні, роторно-дискові, трубчаті, барабанні, шнекові сушарки, а також сушильні установки, які для нагріву теплоносія використовують альтернативні джерела енергії (теплові насоси, геотермальну і сонячну енергію). Наведені технічні характеристики сушарок і особливості їх застосування.
