Summary:The data concerning lancelet registration sites in the Black Sea benthal show that B.lanceolatum can be met along the western and southern Crimean coasts and also along Bulgarian shores. It forms here and there accumulations of 1100 sp/m2 density at the depth of 20 – 21 m. Animals reach 5 cm length and 150 mg weight near Sevastopol. Signs of the population suppression have not been mentioned for the last decades.
