Plant Introduction| Summary: | The method of inbreeding was used in selection of canna. The work studies the first, the second and the third generations obtained from repeated selfpollination of the Wendgausen canna variety. As a result of studies it was found out that the most of offsprings repeat parents' flower colouring and breadth of leaves. Meanwhile their height becomes lower. A special scale was created for selection of seedings according to the colouring of flowers. The scale consists of five classes and is based on “Microsoft Excel 7.0” program. The data obtained confirm the possibility of the use of undersized forms of canna with original colour of flowers. |
