Summary:In this paper, on the basis of the principle of similarity of heat and mass transfer processes, theeffect of temperature and the blowdown rate of a layer of grain during "soft" drying is studied forchanges in the concentration of moisture in a single grain and its stress-strain state, depending onthe location of the grain in the layer. It is shown that the drier the grain is, the more tension in thesingle grain is. During the drying, the displacement in the grain is negative that indicates thatgrains are shrinking, and this is confirmed experimentally. The temperature of drying affects theprocess of drying significantly. With the increase of blowdown rate, the relative moisturesaturation of the grain decreases.
