Summary:We have established that one should search for the optimal conditions of particle catching in a polydisperse three-phase flow, which is realized in a Venturi scrubber, in a seven-dimensional space b, c, ugt, ui0, xst, L1, L2, where b, c are coefficients of the function of drop distribution by sizes, ugt is the gas velocity at the entry to the throat, ui0 is the initial drop velocity, xst is the abscissa of their feed to the flow, and L1, L2 are the lengths of confuser and throat. We have performed the search for the optimal technological parameters by the method of steep descent, and geometric characteristics by the method of quadratic approximation. We have determined that the optimal conditions correspond to the minimal values of ui0 and xst, the maximal gas velocities in the throat, and fractional drop compositions with minimal mode. For a typical regime, we present an example of search for the optimal geometric characteristics of the scrubber L1, L2.
