Запропоновано систему захисту, що грунтується на вимірюванні струмів зворотної послідовності до і після моменту падіння проводу на землю, та застосуванні локаційного методу для визначення місця пошкодження. Теоретично обгрунтовано значення уставки спрацювання захисту та спосіб обробки інформації локаційним методом. Показано ефективність застосування запропонованої системи засисту- від обриву проводу, що полягає у зменшенні часу пошуку місця пошкодження, підвищенні надійності та безпеки експлуатації Бібл. 8.
