Ukrainian Journal of Physics| Резюме: | We will discuss a possible mechanism for the focusing and enhancement of acoustic waves generated by metal nanoparticles embedded in a crystal lattice under ultrashort laser excitation. In contrast to continuous-medium models, the discrete lattice framework naturally gives rise to oscillatory wave tails appearing behind the propagating front. These tails arise from the breakdown of Huygens principle in even-dimensional spaces. The atomic dynamics can be interpreted as evolving within a six-dimensional configuration space, where the continuous subspace represents intra-cell displacements and the discrete indices correspond to the positions of unit cells. This effect can lead to a local enhancement of longitudinal acoustic wave amplitudes at specific lattice sites without any increase in the driving laser pulse intensity. |
