Description
Summary:The stability of solar energy systems remains a key challenge due to the natural variability of insolation levels. The Stirling engine, which uses concentrated solar radiation, is a promising solution for efficiently converting thermal energy into mechanical or electrical energy. However, its performance significantly depends on the level of solar energy intake, which requires the use of an additional heat source. This paper analyses the effect of insolation changes on the temperature regime of the Stirling engine receiver and determines the critical insolation level at which the engine stops without an additional source, as well as investigates the appropriate conditions for using an additional energy source. The proposed approach allows to increase the energy produced by the Stirling engine by ensuring continuous operation at different levels of insolation.
