Резюме:The article is devoted to the problem of underground hydrogen storage. The study presents the results of research aimed at assessing the feasibility of injecting and storing significant volumes of hydrogen in aquifers with reduced reservoir pressure. For safety reasons, air was used instead of hydrogen during the experiments. The validity of this substitution was justified using two similarity criteria. The experiments were carried out at the site of the Institute of Renewable Energy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, using Well No. 8, drilled to a depth of 50 m and penetrating the Poltava aquifer characterized by reduced reservoir pressure. Air injection into the Poltava aquifer was performed using a compressor. The results demonstrated the possibility of injecting large volumes of gas under low reservoir pressure conditions due to the spreading of air within the unsaturated zone of the aquifer.
