Zusammenfassung:This paper presents a study of the solar energy potential for buildings of an urban complex in the city of Dnipro during the year. For this purpose, an approach where mathematical simulation and physical models are combined to estimate the shading of facades by surrounding buildings and structures. To assess the solar potential of a residential complex, at first, the model calculates the maximum solar potential for certain structures, provided there are no obstacles, in the second stage, the potential is determined taking into account the complex geometry of buildings and their mutual shading, and in the third stage, the effect of cloudiness of the sky is taken into account. The obtained results are important for improving an existing system or for choosing the most efficient solar technologies (solar thermal and photovoltaic).
